The commission wanted the land but nothing else, so they dismantled their home piece by piece and used the materials to build the home on 1521 Old Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley. The home was designed by Bowers, an architect who specialized in homes that maintained historical colonial designs while offering modern conveniences. The result is this charming 3-bedroom, 2 full-bath, 2 half-bath main house with a 1st floor master bedroom, 4 fireplaces, an eat-in kitchen, and a cathedral ceiling living room with a balcony featuring random-width pegged maple hardwood floors. Many features from the original Trevose house were maintained, including beamed ceilings, wainscoting, and the fireplace mantels and hearths. When Arthur and Pauline moved the materials from their Trevose home to build this home, they also brought full-grown dogwood trees, holly trees, rhododendrons, and azaleas to adorn the 1.96-acre property.
